The city of Venice - is situated within a shallow lagoon, covering 117 tiny islands. The city is threaded by 150 canals and connected by a staggering 409 bridges - all just begging you to meander and explore. On the Adriatic shore of the Lagoon, and a short boat ride away, are resorts such as Lido, home to the famous Venice Film Festival.
