Top Yachts Builds For Adventure!
It was confirmed this week that Top Yachts, will be project managing the build of a new, specialist vessel for Bear Grylls, the well known adventure.
This craft is being specifically built for a endurance adventure next year, where they will be travelling through the North West Passage. She will be travelling for over 900 miles in Arctic Ice and travelling through area’s that have claimed many explorers lives.
Tom Montgomery-Swan, manager of our lifestyle division and specialist small craft consultant is the build director. Calling on specific knowledge for building such specialist craft, Tom has himself completed many thousands of miles by sea, exploring some the world’s most traitorous coastline in small craft.
Bear will be aiming to be on the water for April time next year, where the RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) will in counter some of the worst conditions ever known to man. This area of water and ice has claimed many lives over the years and many men have failed attempting to channel through her.
The RIB will be less than 11 meters in length, powered by twin engines with a range of 950 miles at 25knots. Every aspect of her design is specific and bespoke to the task in hand. Top Yachts will be using every area of their expertiseand experience in the build management to make sure this craft is a success and she completes her mission.
